Glimspe of Fall by Veronica Peralta

Starting today, I will be featuring layouts that took my breath away. This will be a random event so I'll be posting a photo or a link when I feel like it. Today, I was really awed by VeroNica's layout, Glimpse of Fall.

Fall colors are LOVELY! They're very romantic and sentimental. This is just one awesome layout that made my jaw drop. This is just ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!

My sincerest thanks to VeroNica for allowing me to post this beautiful layout from you in my blog.

Friends...Dreams...Memories

This was my layout for the Digitals' September Me, My, Mine Challenge. Nikki had her recital concert last September 25. After 2 months of going through training, she and her friends have finally completed the course and capped it with a great concert for their friends and family. We are all proud of her because she did so well during her performance. These were photos taken after their concert.

This is a very significant photo for me this month because I've been tagging along with Nikki through all her activities this month. She has been part of a major production concert, a mall show and now her training has ended with this recital concert. The physical exhaustion I felt while going with her to all the rehearsals and stuff (as her nanny and chaperone) were all worth it after seeing her perform at her very best.

Finally!

Early last week, my computer burned literally. I was already having problems the week prior to that - the computer was turning off all by itself; my internet connection, though DSL, was just unbearable and my e-mails were all screwing up. I got the dreaded blue screen every so often. I knew there was a problem but I couldn't pinpoint what it really was. There are a number of possibilities so I couldn't just jump into conclusion.

That Monday morning, the computer turned off abruptly and when I turned it back on, I smelled something burning. I realized that it was my tower that emitted that funky smell and I rushed to unplug every single thing that's connected to the power outlet.

I opened the tower and smoke was coming from where the memory sticks were. I abhor the stench. It was unbearable. I knew right there and then that I was in for something big - BIG EXPENSE that is!

To make the long story short, I had to leave my good ol' computer at the shop and had the motherboard, video card and memory sticks replaced. I had practically a brand new computer that left my pocket penniless. I was supposed to use the money for a new digital camera but since I work with my computer, I had to give way to that birthday gift I wanted for myself.

Anyway, I had a couple of layouts that I wasn't able to upload when the PC conked out so I was only able to post them just now. I've posted them in my various galleries and I hope to be able to complete some challenges at other sites while I rest for the meantime from my creative team duties. I do have 2 kit assignments due on the 3rd but that's all. I might be able to use these kits too for the challenges. I also miss browsing through the forums so I might as well do it this week too.

Have fun looking at my layouts and hopefully, what happened last week will really be the last of my computer misadventures.

Why Canada is Special

Canada is very special to me in more ways than one. I still have lots of pictures to scrap during my stay there. It will surely fill my All About Me album in the future.

Journaling reads:
I fell in love with Canada the very first time I set foot on it in April 2001. The people are very friendly and the place is just what I imagined it to be - clean and peaceful. Niagara is just awesome and has been and will always be at the top of my most favorite places to visit. In October 2001, I decided to go back to start a whole new life after a series of life's trials. It was in Canada where I found a whole new life - I found answers to my questions and most of all I found my real self while I was there. I met my new best friend and I learned who my true friends were. More importantly, I became a stronger and a wiser person. My stay in Canada is and will always be the best days of my life.

Memorial for the Unborn

This is a memorial built for the aborted babies inside the compound of the parish church in my province. Beside this memorial is the Letter from the Unborn Child, a letter that has already been sent out through cyberspace before. I just had to take a picture of this one to constantly remind everyone about the beauty of life and to give these unborn babies a chance at life.

Journaling reads:
This was a photo I took of the Virgin Mary from the Church of Lucban last year. Going through a difficult pregnancy before I had my son, I feel that every conceived child deserves to be given a fair chance to live and that respect for life is very important.

Fine Chocolate...Fine Couple

I am not much of a chocolate lover but I do have certain times when I crave for it. And when I do, I eat it at my heart's content. I consider Ogie and Leth as my other set of parents. They're one of the most loving and most fun couples I've met. I admire their stability and strength as a couple who has weathered many challenges in their lives together. They brought up their children the way children should be brought up - God-fearing, loving and full of respect. They complement each other so well that it's not at all boring to listen to them talk. I will always have high regards for them no matter how far they are from me. Scrapping their photos made me miss them now more than ever.

Report Card

During their outdoor class (practicum) at Pop-Up Bar in Makati, their performance was evaluated by one of the coaches teaching at the Center for Pop Music Philippines. Manila

Here's my layout for the 3Scrapateers September 2005 mega kit, FIESTA! This kit is huge and it has a variety of colorful and bright embellishments and papers that you can use for all those photos. The kit will be out very soon and the paper and embellishments I used here are just a bit of what you can get with the kit. The photo was one of ChatNet #Manila's anniversary photos during the time that I was so into chatting. It was really fun while it lasted.

I used 2Peas Billboard for the title and BlackJack for the sub-title and journaling. I did 2 scraplets (quickpages for this) and I'll be posting them soon for your viewing pleasure.

Special Blessing

I was privileged to get this wonderful 1st birthday kit of Royanna, The Big One! Baby's First Birthday. This kit is just perfect for your daughter or your son's 1st birthday photos or even beyond. The elements and papers come in 4 different pastel colors to suit your taste. Journaling done in Architext, title in Duality.

Journaling on the left reads:
You came at a time when I was unsure of what I wanted in life. But all was changed when you came. We have been through a lot together - pain, sickness, suffering - but you never gave up. It was you who gave me the courage & strength to fight and face the challenges ahead. You never failed to give me the comfort and peace whenever Id feel you move inside of me. Until the day you finally came, I realized how lucky I was to have been given such a precious gift - the gift of having YOU.

Journaling on the right reads:
You surprised us with a lot of things in your first year alone. You started posing for the camera even when you were still at the nursery. You started rolling over before you reached your 3rd month. You started crawling before you reached 5 months and at 6 months, you were practically enjoying all the attention you're getting from everyone in the family. You started to develop as a kid and I just realized that time flew so fast. My little baby is growing to be the fine kid that you should be. If there's one selfish wish I can ask for this day, it will be that you remain to be my baby.

Nikkirella

This page features the author of Nikkirella – who else but my little sister, Nikki. I featured some of the photos taken from her practicum last August 28. I just thought that this is a great way to introduce the writer in her.

Journaling reads:It’s the title of the story she made when she was in 1st grade. It was a story about a girl who moved out of her parents’ house because they were mean. She found a lonely & desperate dragon. The girl took care of it and eventually kissed it in the end. Turns out that it broke the curse on the dragon, turned him into a handsome prince and they lived happily ever after.. I think it was a nice story for a 1st grader to write.
