Early last week, my computer burned literally. I was already having problems the week prior to that - the computer was turning off all by itself; my internet connection, though DSL, was just unbearable and my e-mails were all screwing up. I got the dreaded blue screen every so often. I knew there was a problem but I couldn't pinpoint what it really was. There are a number of possibilities so I couldn't just jump into conclusion.
That Monday morning, the computer turned off abruptly and when I turned it back on, I smelled something burning. I realized that it was my tower that emitted that funky smell and I rushed to unplug every single thing that's connected to the power outlet.
I opened the tower and smoke was coming from where the memory sticks were. I abhor the stench. It was unbearable. I knew right there and then that I was in for something big - BIG EXPENSE that is!
To make the long story short, I had to leave my good ol' computer at the shop and had the motherboard, video card and memory sticks replaced. I had practically a brand new computer that left my pocket penniless. I was supposed to use the money for a new digital camera but since I work with my computer, I had to give way to that birthday gift I wanted for myself.
Anyway, I had a couple of layouts that I wasn't able to upload when the PC conked out so I was only able to post them just now. I've posted them in my various galleries and I hope to be able to complete some challenges at other sites while I rest for the meantime from my creative team duties. I do have 2 kit assignments due on the 3rd but that's all. I might be able to use these kits too for the challenges. I also miss browsing through the forums so I might as well do it this week too.
Have fun looking at my layouts and hopefully, what happened last week will really be the last of my computer misadventures.

During their outdoor class (practicum) at Pop-Up Bar in Makati, their performance was evaluated by one of the coaches teaching at the Center for Pop Music Philippines. This was the report card that my sister, Nikki, got when she had her practicum. We were all very happy because she was eventually given 3 awards for her performance. Nikki wanted this scrapped so I thought it best to use this kit because it's just perfect for the theme.
I made this layout using Peggy Brutcher's School is Cool kit and Kindergarten for journaling. Thanks for looking!

Here's my layout for the 3Scrapateers September 2005 mega kit, FIESTA! This kit is huge and it has a variety of colorful and bright embellishments and papers that you can use for all those photos. The kit will be out very soon and the paper and embellishments I used here are just a bit of what you can get with the kit. The photo was one of ChatNet #Manila's anniversary photos during the time that I was so into chatting. It was really fun while it lasted.
I used 2Peas Billboard for the title and BlackJack for the sub-title and journaling. I did 2 scraplets (quickpages for this) and I'll be posting them soon for your viewing pleasure.

This is my birthday card for Joy, a high school friend. Incidentally, she's getting married next week. Oh boy am I very excited for her.
I used Kim Woodlee's Emma's Pieces of Me kit at Do It Digi and Marydale for the journaling and title.
Thanks for looking and HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOY!!!
I made this layout for Christina Bartholomew's Scrap Backwards Crop at 3S. The crop aims to improve a scrapper's journaling skills. I really love this crop a lot so I try to attend this as much as I can.

A very good friend of mine shared one of her "goofy" wedding photos and I decided to scrap it for her. I really found this picture extraordinary because we all know that during weddings, everyone seems to be prim and proper - but of course, that's not the case in this picture.

This is another photo of my Mom from her album. She doesn’t have much in it so I thought it best to pick out some of those that would really be nice to scrap.
This was taken at the old bus station in Baguio City, the summer capital of the Philippines. I really found it nostalgic.

My Mom became a beauty queen at 17. This happened to be the only photo she was able to keep as a memento of the event. And it’s just nice that I’m able to scrap this now.

This page features the author of Nikkirella – who else but my little sister, Nikki. I featured some of the photos taken from her practicum last August 28. I just thought that this is a great way to introduce the writer in her.
Journaling reads:It’s the title of the story she made when she was in 1st grade. It was a story about a girl who moved out of her parents’ house because they were mean. She found a lonely & desperate dragon. The girl took care of it and eventually kissed it in the end. Turns out that it broke the curse on the dragon, turned him into a handsome prince and they lived happily ever after.. I think it was a nice story for a 1st grader to write.
This layout was inspired from a sketch by Nicole Durtschi at 3Scrapateers.

This photo was taken after Nikki’s concert last September 2. We had dinner at a Japanese restaurant and while waiting for our food orders, we decided to have a couple of pictures taken. Though most of us were tired, most especially me and Nikki, we still had lots of fun and we ate a lot of the great Japanese food that we ordered. Having my younger siblings around is really all worth it.
This layout was scraplifted from Marlie of Do It Digi for Kellie Simpson's weekly scraplift challenge.
